Well hello again, and hasn’t it been a while since we’ve had this! Oh well it just means plenty more gossip for you to read about. Let’s start with the yoga night. Well didn’t we all get into interesting positions on that night. I think after that night we all felt closer to our fellow venturers, perhaps a little too close. But wasn’t it fun! MeeeowWell if we didn’t get close enough then the ghost tour sure fixed that! Whether it was our teddy bears or the person standing next to us we all needed someone to hold that night. We all know who Kym got to hold! Oh don’t they just make a cute couple! Too bad we forgot the camera. I don’t think any of us actually saw or heard any ghosts but our fellow venturers were there to keep us terrified. Whether it was grabbing us from behind or jumping out of random places in the dark shower block there was always someone there ready to joke around. I personally think the best part of the trip was the maccas stop afterwards. Ghost free and no dark corners! The way it’s supposed to be. I don’t think I want to go back though! Let’s stick to yoga!Well at least we got to really know everyone before dragon skin. We sent off three teams to skin. The Unstoppable 6, who came in 61st , the B*Sharps, who came in 76th, and Metal Militia, who came in 107th. I’m sure everyone had a great time. Especially at night when the VOC’s went off!! The discos were great, along with the movies, but I think the best part of the VOC’s was the fire on the last night!! It was definitely appreciated after the nights hits around -10 degrees and we woke up in frost covered tents. There was a snow warning but unfortunately we missed out. However, despite the cold, we all had a great time meeting old friends from venture who travelled from everywhere including NSW, Victoria, and even Western Australia, and even better, meeting so many more new friends. Well that’s all I can say for now because remember…what happens at Vegies, stays at Vegies! Ciao (written by Mel Knott)
The Goss From AV2006
Wasn’t it a joyful two weeks of all those who went, and to those who didn’t…u missed out! On arrival we were split up into different units, Harry to whitewater, stuart to breakers, Mel to beach bums, Rachael and Andrew to abseiling, and Ben, matt, Kristian, Michael, and Dylan to fishing. Although placed in different units we all often ended up at the fishing unit anyway. We made plenty of friends from the fishing unit who were a tight group of guys…spending most of the time at coastal resort playing with each others rod’s! The Fishing unit also came up with the famous question soon well known over the campsite:
· Are you Vegetarian? · Are you a lesbian? · How old are you? · Does size matter? Can I plough you? When most were asked the questions they answered with confused looks as only we knew the true meaning behind each of them. Coastal resort was a blast with giant swings, movies, high ropes, disco’s, dinning inside a giant rock, Hawaiian nights, and just lazing around the campsite. We even got to experience both Stuart and Ben dressed up as girls and matt as a very muscly male! The only downfall of the camp was the dinning experience…the first night there were served what they called spaghetti bolognaise…the spaghetti was mush and the bolognaise was chunky water…and tasted as bad as it looked. I am happy to say that for most of us the food did slightly improve but Rachael, as a vegetarian, was served the same meal every day. But not to worry, there were a few surprises left under the table for the caterers! Shhh….wasn’t us! We were even lucky enough to have our very own comedian onsite! Joe entertained us all by juggling, singing, playing the bins and riding the unicycle…and that was all at the same time. All in all he was just a hilarious guy! All in all AV was the best and plenty of goss came out of it… we made friends, we made enemies, but it was an experience of a lifetime…
Thankyou to all who made it possible!
